I would like to start by saying a big thank you, to all those that came to support our Queen’s Birthday Party Celebrations. Although the weather turned out to be raining and stopped our event being in the street party style outside. Everyone enjoyed the day inside rather than getting wet. The entertainment that was booked for this day was Jeremy Hillyard. He was very well received as all the ladies were really looking forward to seeing him again and to listen to his singing. The day went every well and we managed to raise a total of £150.

A special thanks to Sally Elkington for helping throughout the day and Raffle prize donation, Janet Johnson for the many lovely cakes and Ann Hampson for the raffle prizes. Last but not least our own cooks for providing the meal.

The next Resident meeting will be held on 1 July at 10.30, I would like to ask family members for your support once again. This would be most appreciated as ideas and comments from you would be of great use. Please let me know if you can attend.

We also have a Dorean Johnson who comes into sings for the residents; she takes time out to play her piano every other Friday. The residents love to sing and listen to the music. If you know anyone with talent who can spare some free time and would like to volunteer to entertain once in a while please let us know, it’s good to have a variety of entertainment from time to time.

We are hoping to hold a Summer Fayre to give you the opportunity to come and meet up in the summer, hold a stall and sell some cakes, sell items you no longer want. We will also do some fund raising on the day for the residents comfort fund.

We also hope to hold a gardening party, help tidy up the garden, bring along your own plant and then plant it. So next year we will have a nice display in the back garden for your relatives to look at and smell. Maybe divide areas up so each of your family member has their own area to show off to other residents, share seeds or cuttings and watch them grow. Please come and get involved, your help and ideas are most appreciated.
