Care Home Overview
The Grove Care Centre is surrounded by an acre of beautiful, mature gardens at the heart of the village of Thurnscoe near Barnsley. Originally built in 1924, the house has 28 bedroom, some of which have en-suite facilities.
The Grove has been extensively upgraded and refurbished to modernise the facilities and to provide specific specialist care for residents with dementia. The re-decoration and new furniture provides cosy and comfortable surroundings and new, state-of-the-art equipment assures the health and safety of residents with limited mobility. Enjoying close relationships with the local community, our residents enjoy a range of social activities and we regularly welcome singers, musicians and other entertainers to the home. There are also trips to the seaside and shopping centres including Sheffield’s Meadowhall. For those who prefer peace and quiet, and for residents to pursue their own hobbies, we have dedicated areas for relaxation.

OUR QUALITY OF CARE
At St Philips Care we give people a sense of place and somewhere they really love to live, making each of our homes fun, friendly and comfortable places to be.
As a group of professional carers, we specialize in the health and well being of people from all walks of life and all ages, and take enormous pride in the high levels of care that we deliver.
Our homes offer a range of support for adult and elderly people whether that is for residential, dementia, mental health or respite care. We pride ourselves on our experienced, highly trained teams which include carers, support staff, and registered nurses and the group offers all of our teams the resources to meet our residents’ daily needs.
PERSONALISED CARE PLANS
St Philips Care focuses each and every care plan on the individual, taking into consideration their personal requirements and tastes.
We take time out to know and understand our residents even before they move in, not only by talking to them but also by including their family and friends during their stay to make sure that we have the best possible plan tailored to each individual.
We consider not only care aspects but also personal interests, social life, working life, and companionships. Special consideration is given to their personal space and bedroom, their favourite meals and dinner choices, understanding, monitoring and developing a personal care plan and generally keeping good channels of communication with family and friends at all times.
