CARE HOME OVERVIEW
Situated in North Yorkshire in the historic market town of Selby, The Grange Care Home is a large Victorian house with its own grounds. It has since been restored, refurbished, and redecorated, but many of the original features (including ornate covings and stained glass windows) have been retained, giving the unique building its own charm and character.
Many different people come to live at The Grange, Selby. Some people simply require residential care, a place to live with some assistance when necessary. These people can be independent but enjoy the back up and support of living in a care home setting. For those who are very independent our rooms within the main house can be ideal. These have bathrooms and also sitting areas for quiet times, or afternoon tea with friends and family.
The Mews, is our wonderful specialist Dementia Care unit which caters for our residents with differing stages of dementia. Our Care staff at The Mews are specially trained to support those living with dementia, whilst the unit has all the necessary facilities to care for these residents. This unit contains 27 rooms with two communal lounges, a beautiful conservatory and a dining room, where residents can enjoy meals together.
Often, people may also come for respite stays, sometimes to recuperate after an illness or operation, maybe to give their main carer some support. Whatever level of care you require, our supportive team at The Grange will be able to help you. We are always available for a friendly chat to see how we can support you and your family.
The Grange has an activities co-ordinator who organises a wide range of sessions for the residents, from fun games to regular visits from local school children, which offers rewarding inter-generational socialisation between the two groups. There are many hidden treasures in the town of Selby, including the canal, Jorvik Theatre and Arts Centre, the magnificent Abbey, Selby Park, and the Holy Trinity Church.

As a group of professional carers, we specialize in the health and well being of people from all walks of life and all ages, and take enormous pride in the high levels of care that we deliver.
Our homes offer a range of support for adult and elderly people whether that is for residential, dementia, mental health or respite care. We pride ourselves on our experienced, highly trained teams which include carers, support staff, and registered nurses and the group offers all of our teams the resources to meet our residents’ daily needs.
PERSONALISED CARE PLANS
St Philips Care focuses each and every care plan on the individual, taking into consideration their personal requirements and tastes.
We take time out to know and understand our residents even before they move in, not only by talking to them but also by including their family and friends during their stay to make sure that we have the best possible plan tailored to each individual.
We consider not only care aspects but also personal interests, social life, working life, and companionships. Special consideration is given to their personal space and bedroom, their favourite meals and dinner choices, understanding, monitoring and developing a personal care plan and generally keeping good channels of communication with family and friends at all times.
