It is so lovely when families give us such heartfelt feedback. This letter was sent to Dearne Valley Care Centre, and the accompanying newspaper clipping was in the local newspaper the Barnsley Chronicle. We are so touched that someone took the time to thank us for what we do. A “thank you” means so much to people, the acknowledgement of effort, the understanding of the time and love that we put into each one of our homes, and each one of our residents. We are always grateful for the feedback and for kind words. Thank you!

Dear Andrew, Elsa & all staff at Dearne Valley
Sadly, on the 26th February 2022 we lost our beloved Mum and Nannan, Barbara, to the terrible disease Vascular Dementia of the Alzheimer’s family, heartbreakingly just five months after losing our beloved dad and Grandad Roy Bunting to Alzheimer’s, the same cruel and destroying disease, but we find some comfort knowing Mum passed away in the hands of your loving care. It is the family’s request that donations were made in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer’s Society, the Teenage Cancer Trust, and Young Adult Unit which treat one of their grand-daughters in 2017 and Dearne valley care centre which cared for both Barbara and Roy in the latter days of their life.
Four hundred pounds was donated in lieu of flowers with a family top up which is to be split between the three chosen charities.
Therefore, please find the enclosed cheque for £140 in loving memory of our precious Mum and nannan Barbara Bunting (Queenie) a well-loved and respected member of the community in Worsborough, Barnsley.
It is our request that this donation be used to support the residents of Dearne Valley Care Centre.
We would just like to take this opportunity once more to give special thanks to all the wonderful staff (in whatever role) and residents for welcoming Mum with so much love and care–and making her home at Dearne Valley for the last six months, a Happy Home! She loved you all <3
We will be forever grateful and you will always have a special place in our hearts.
Yours Sincerely
Debra – Daughter of Roy & Barbara
