CARE HOME OVERVIEW
Alma McFadyen Care Home, Dumfries, is a friendly home set in the lovely town of Dalbeattie, known as the Granite Town of South West Scotland. Operating as a residential care home with a history of providing care to people from the town and the surrounding areas since 1965. The 24 bedded home is now a well furnished and attractively decorated home with a range of modern facilities designed to ensure high standards of the health and safety for the residents.
There are regular activities such as bingo, dominoes, card making and quizzes as well as day trips and a variety of entertainment provided by visiting musicians. Whenever possible we enjoy celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions, such as Burns Night, with friends and families and our active Relatives Committee.

St Philips Care focuses each and every care plan on the individual, taking into consideration their personal requirements and tastes.
We take time out to know and understand our residents even before they move in, not only by talking to them but also by including their family and friends during their stay to make sure that we have the best possible plan tailored to each individual.
We consider not only care aspects but also personal interests, social life, working life, and companionships. Special consideration is given to their personal space and bedroom, their favourite meals and dinner choices, understanding, monitoring and developing a personal care plan and generally keeping good channels of communication with family and friends at all times.
